Project note
Nugget externship
Four weeks on a cross-functional team, building features for Nugget's Trusted Parent Reviews: helping parents find family-friendly restaurants through reviews grounded in real family context.
An externship through TripleTen, working with Nugget App LLC.
The challenge
Parents choosing a restaurant want to know how it went for families like theirs. The feature lets a parent choose a reaction, select which children were there, add optional restaurant tags and notes, submit the review and see a confirmation.
What I built
- Guided review submission, in four steps: a reaction, the children's age groups, contextual tags, and notes. In the externship's feature branch, a submitted review appears immediately after you submit it.
- Community groups: discover groups, join or leave them, and create, edit or delete your own, with validation and a confirmation before anything destructive.
I built community groups and a four-step review flow using mocked sign-in and mock data that persisted across page reloads. The work did not connect to Nugget's live database.
Working with QA and design
I built from the UX/UI team's designs and worked through QA's feedback with a team spread across time zones. The other engineer and I reviewed each other's pull requests.
